The stately Hotel with a twist, directly at Munich Central Station.
As you may or may not know, I lived in Munich from the age of 18 until 20. I flew over for a 2 week holiday and ending up renting a flat, getting and job and living there for 2 years.
They were 2 of the best years of my life - Munich is incredible!
Munich is most definitely, in my opinion, one of the best cities in Europe. From the hustle and bustle of the city, offering incredible bars, restaurants, biergartens and nightclubs to the beauty of all the greenery nestled in the city, I spent the the majority of my free time at the The "Englischer Garten" (English Garden) and the Hofgarten.
As you'll have seen on my blog I have been fortunate enough to have worked with 25hours hotels in a few different cities now, and regardless of what the city has been like, staying at a 25hours hotel is most definitely an experience in itself. Each of their hotels have their own "theme" embracing the relevant city. I have stayed with them in Munich, Paris and Copenhagen and they seem to whisk you off to your own little wonderland.
Whilst you'll find separate blog posts on the other cities hotels, this post is about Munich and our stay at The Royal Bavarian. The Royal Bavarian is conveniently located opposite the Hauptbahnhof which is Munich's central train station so you have easy access to all areas of the city right on your doorstep

At the heart of The Royal Bavarian hotel is the restaurant 'NENI' as well as the Aperitivo Bar, which are the perfect places to enjoy lunch or dinner, this is also where you'll find the breakfast in the morning, which offers an incredible variety and selection of cold and hot options.
There is also a very cool bar on the 1st floor, Boilerman Bar which you don't need a reservation for and is open until 1am besides Friday and Saturday when it stays open until 2am.
NENI RESTAURANT
The on-site NENI restaurant is a truly beautiful space located on the ground floor of the hotel. The restaurant offers an array of delicious dishes from varying cuisines, such as Spanish, Israeli and Romanian. There are plenty of options to tantalise your tastebuds.
Whether you're enjoying a sit down meal or just swinging by for a pick me up cocktail after a day of exploring the city, the NENI Munich offers plenty of seating in a very cool space.
Opening hours:
Monday to Friday: 12 PM – 3 PM & 5.30 PM – 11 PM
Saturday & Sunday: 12.30 PM – 3 PM & 5.30 PM – 11 PM
APERITIVO BAR
The focus of The Royal Bavarian's Aperitivo Bar is on "day drinking". They serve refreshing drinks and delicious hot and cold snacks. They also serve coffee and tea in different variations.
The Aperitivo Bar is the perfect place to relax at both the start or end the day.
Opening hours:
Monday to Friday: 10:30 AM - 6 PM
Saturday & Sunday: 11:30 AM - 6 PM
THE BOILERMAN BAR
The Boilerman Bar is like a neighbourhood speakeasy, open to hotel guests and locals alike. A sociable joint, the cosy atmosphere is an inviting place to linger and relax. No reservations necessary - Just rock up and enjoy some scrumptious cocktails!
Opening hours:
Monday to Thursday: 6 PM - 1 AM
Friday & Saturday: 6 PM - 2 AM
Sunday: 6 PM - 1 AM
BREAKFAST - IN THE NENI RESTAURANT
Breakfast is served in the restaurant of the hotel and boasts a vast and varied selection of continental breakfast options, from pastries and bread to an array of meats, cheeses, fruit and an excellent selection of hot and cold drinks.
THE ROOMS
The rooms in the 25hours hotels are not merely ‘off the shelf’; they are tailored to each location. Sometimes cool, sometimes colourful, sometimes nostalgic, but always interesting!
The Royal Bavarian offers 6 different room sizes; Small, Medium, Large, Extra Large, Swan Suite and Peacock Suite. We stayed in the medium room on this ocassion which was plenty big enough and offered everything we needed.
WELLNESS AREA
The Royal Bavarian also offers a fantastic wellness area which is reserved exclusively for hotel guests and is located on the 4th floor with a delightful quiet terrace facing the atrium.
Equipped with a sauna and a spacious rest area, it was an inviting place to kick back and relax after our busy days spent in the city.
HOTEL CHECK IN/CHECK OUT
Check-in for The Royal Bavarian is available from 3 PM, however if your room is available you may be able to check in sooner, we were lucky enough to get our room just after midday.
I would suggest this all depends on the day of the week and how busy the hotel is, so please bear in mind early check-in isn't always available.
If you're hoping to explore the city as soon as you arrive you can always ask to leave your luggage with concierge.
The Royal Bavarian offer a really convenient check-out, which is available until 12 PM on the day of your departure compared to the early check-outs I experience regularly at other hotels. This means you can enjoy a lie-in and a slow relaxed breakfast before having to pack up your room and leave.
SUMMARY
We absolutely loved our stay at 25Hours The Royal Bavarian Hotel, it had an incredibly central and convenient location, which linked us easily to the airport and all areas of the city that we wanted to visit. The rooms were large enough and had everything we needed and the hotel itself offered enough in the way of wining and dining and areas the unwind in.
The price to stay at The Royal Bavarian differs hugely depending on which room and the month you visit, however here are some examples of the cheapest rates I've found;
Medium Room - £103.00 - £127.00 per night (excluding breakfast)
Large Room - £117.00 - £141.00 per night (excluding breakfast)
Suite - £230.00 - £265.00 per night (excluding breakfast)
It is also worth while checking whether they're running any promotions or offers, I have also seen discounted rates if you sign up to their loyalty scheme, but I haven't delved deeper so I don't know what this entails.
We will absolutely be coming back... But before we do there's so many more incredible hotels in the 25Hours Hotel chain we'd like to visit!
